Farzbod Taefi

Farzbod Taefi is the director of Skills Update Training and Education Group.

He was the National Commissioner for the Boy Scouts Association in Samoa for eight years, before leaving to embark on a new project in New Zealand in 1990. Farzbod wanted to open an institute that would help young people to learn useful skills and enter meaningful employment.

28 years later, over 45,000 students have graduated from Skills Update courses and have successfully moved on to higher level education or employment.

In 2018, because of the successful development and delivery of a diverse range of programmes, in collaboration with polytechnics throughout New Zealand, Marsden Technical Institute was established to cater to the growing numbers of international students wanting to further their education in New Zealand.
