Elizabeth has dedicated her career to education, firstly as a Secondary School Teacher and then moving into tertiary education within Skills Update.




Working at Skills Update has provided her with the opportunity to grow within the organisation, as it has developed from a small PTE to an enterprise with a number of divisions that has provided vocational pathways for more than 45,000 students throughout New Zealand.


Elizabeth is a very family orientated individual, who has been married for 44 years and has two children and four grandchildren.

Auckland, New Zealand.


What are the things you like most about your home country?

The beauty of the country, the fact that New Zealand is a reasonably safe haven, the cultural mix of the people, the wonderful food that different cultures have bought with them to New Zealand and the opportunities that are open to all people - career, lifestyle.


What are your three most favourite books?

Shogun - James Clavell.


River God - Wilbur Smith.


The Hiding Place - Corrie Ten Boom.


What sports teams do you support?



Rugby League.




Water Sport.


How do you spend your free time?

I pour my energies into my family and the Church.  I enjoy reading, fishing and I give back to the community by serving as a Justice of the Peace and Civil Celebrant.


What is your favourite music?

I enjoy a variety of music, with one of my favourite bands being ‘Queen’ and soloist ‘Elton John’.


What famous person do you most admire and why?

I admire the Queen of England as she has given her life to her country and the commonwealth.  She has never really had a life of her own, because of the responsibilities of her position.


How would your friends describe you?

I would like to think that my friends would describe me as honest, loving, caring, and compassionate.
